Seems like only a few days, but the first week of 2019 is already to coming to a close. Having some time off before returning to the same old grindstone the holidays granted a respite from, I do want to announce some of my future plans for the site going forward. Oh, and if I forgot to say it,
Not to air all of my unseemly laundry for the world to see, but between the stress of moving, commuting from work to home at odd hours during the day/night, and a death in the family near Thanksgiving, 2018 hasn’t been too kind for me. Calling it exhausting would be understatement. However, with wanting to turn negatives into positives and rumors of my own demise being greatly exaggerated, I want to put that new found motivation to work and continue forward with regularly updating the site. At the very least, I want to do 3 post a week covering not only reviews but other content as well. With next week already downsizing whatever time I have, I will probably have to keep it at 2 per week until I get acclimated. So what do I exactly have in mind for this month and onward? Well, here is a brief rundown.
General Style Of Post
Anime Alcove List Tuesday: Already doing the first edition for the beginning of the year, this will be a week or bi-weekly type post. Still working on the details. Even though it has “anime” in the name, the post will be dedicated to other media and following a “Top of” list format.
Anime Reviews: Yup, still following through them. Not much will change here aside from the format to make it more interesting. Also got around to seeing a few feature feature-length films that I can’t wait to talk about.
Anime Under The Lens: More of a discussion/editorial/retrospective style post than review covering a specific series and something noteworthy about it or just plain reminding people it exist. This will have a Twitter equivalent.
Manga Reviews: Name says it all.
Retro Reminiscence: Same thing as Anime Under The Lens, just for video games.
Various Others: Working on a few more things too granular to mention now, but you will know them when you see them. For example: I might even start reviewing K-dramas.
Video Game/Visual Novel Reviews: Name says it all. Already have a few past due.
As for what I will be writing about for this month and the next…here is a small preview in no particular set order. Adjusting as I see fit…

…….To be continued…..
Having already done a considerable amount of work this week (still need to finish linking my index page), I will take the rest of the time to enjoy my final vacation days and of course, make the rounds to other fellow bloggers to see what they have been up to. I use to receive email digest every time someone makes a post, but since an accident occurred when I was doing the upgrade months back, I had to build my list again. Not sure why, but will use the opportunity to get reacquainted with everyone. And as always, please free to reach out. Even though I probably won’t have a lot of time, I would love to do some collaborations and the like in the future.
Anyway, before I begin to ramble, it is good to back, looking forward to the year, and seeing what will come of it. Please lend me your support as always. And once more…
Sorry to hear about your 2018 woes, hope 2019 goes better for you. Setting out a plan for yourself as you’ve done is a great way to stay focused even when life feels like throwing a few spanners your way. Writing about stuff in one form or another has been keeping me sane online for probably well over 10 years in total now! 🙂

Wow, you been writing for quite awhile now. Yeah, I do hope planning and listing stuff out will light a fire under me to actually get it done. Plus, finding sites like yours and seeing what you have already accomplish in terms of volume is very motivating. Hope you have no plans of slowing down just yet.

No plans to slow down whatsoever, don’t worry! I had a great 2018 in terms of numbers so I’m more motivated than I’ve ever been — but to be honest, I enjoy it so much that I’d still do what I do even if only two or three people ever read what I wrote. I’m forever grateful to people who stop by, read what I do and get something from it.
